I just installed this faucet- and read about the issue of dead batteries- (or if you want to bypass/ disable the electronic touch feature) - in reading the manual, if the batteries have run down, you can reset the faucet to bypass the electronic touch-valve- it's described on pg 35 of the manual, but you basically remove the electronics module from the valve solenoid, and then use a fresh 9V battery to connect the positive (+) battery terminal to the negative (-) solenoid terminal; and the negative (-) battery terminal to the positive (+) solenoid valve terminal (for no more than 3-4 seconds)- that will engage and open the valve- and it will remain open (for manual operation);

or you can remove the actual electronic module and valve solenoid entirely and just connect the 2 ends of the hoses together using the friction-fitting with the bottom clip. This restores the faucet to the simpler manual type (no electronic valve at all).
