This item arrived quickly from Amazon and the packaging was so thick and protective, I probalby could have thrown this down the stairs and not broken anything.

This is a stunning light fixture. It's a beautiful mosaic of white, off-white, and reddish neutrals when the light is off. When on, it glows reddish and orange. I really like the effect.

I was concerned, and it turned out rightfully so, about the opacity of the shade. The pen shell is very beautiful, and the glass it's attached to is very high quality and thick. But it blocks a lot of the light, despite the fact that it takes 4 bulbs (sidenote: not so energy efficient). So if you insist on having this fixture, I would recommend complementing it with some other light sources, like floor/table lamps, sconces, or pendants.
