</p>Dahua 16 channel 120fps at 1080P Vertical NVR Server: H.264/MPEG4, USB, RS485, Gigabit, 2x SATA, eSATA, 2yr Review
Amazon appears to be deleting my posts under "Customer Questions & Answers" where I raised what I consider to be relevant issues concerning the Dahua NVR. Issues which may be of importance to potential customers.I posted a comment under Reds55's review, some of which is repeated here, but that comment may not be read by some potential buyers of the NVR. I didn't want to, perhaps unfairly, give the product a low rating since I haven't tried it out and am returning it. However, I wanted to air some issues which others may find interesting and it seems that posting a review is the only way I'll be able to get the word out since Amazon is deleting the post in the Q&A venue. I don't know for sure if the NVR sent me is actually a genuine "Dahua".
I ordered from HD Security Store what I thought (by checking the NVR offerings on the Dahua website and comparing with the Amazon description) was going to be a Dahua DH-NVR3216V.
What I got was a unit with a sticker pasted over the model-number location of what appears to be the original manufacturer's sticker on the NVR. The pasted-over model number is W-NVR4216V. There is no such model number on the Dahua website. The sticker pasting over the original model number says DS-NVR3216V and there are no "DS" model numbers for the 2-bay 16-channel vertical NVR on the Dahua website.
I asked Reds55, by way of a comment to his review, what vendor he purchased from and did the unit he received bear the DH-NVR3216V model number. Having an NVR with a model number that matches the model number available on the manufacturer's website could be important if warranty issues arise. The Amazon product heading says "Dahua 16 channel 120fps at 1080P Vertical NVR Server: H.264/MPEG4, USB, RS485, Gigabit, 2x SATA, eSATA, 2yr". I assume the "2yr" refers to warranty duration. The paperwork included with my order from HD Security Store stated a 1 year warranty.
There was a remote control included in the package I received, and a remote isn't mentioned on the Amazon web page. The Quick Start Guide wasn't for a vertical unit. A mouse was included in the package too, also not mentioned.
If you go to the HD Security Store website (hdsecuritystore.com) and click "Dahua Network Video Recorder (NVR)" category on the left of the home page you will load a page in which you will find the DH-NVR3216V listed near the bottom of the page, not a DS-NVR3216V model number like the pasted-on sticker of the NVR I received from HD Security Store.
The NVR sent to me has paste-over stickers covering the original model numbers on both the product box and on the NVR itself (model number W-NVR4216V has been pasted over.). There is no model W-NVR4216V on the Dahua website, so there could be issues if warranty service is needed.
Dahua makes two models of 16-channel vertical two-bay NVRs--one with PoE and one without. The NVR that should have been sent to me is the DH-NVR3216V, not a W-NVR4216V with a DS-NVR3216V sticker pasted over the original model number. Also, there is no NVR on the Dahua website having a DS-xxxxxxxx model number. The Dahua website has models that start with DH, not DS.
The quick start guide is not for a vertical model, but for a horizontal model. There is a small area near the top right and above the right-side HDD bay where the paint or coating has chipped off indicating that the NVR may not be new, but used.
Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Dahua 16 channel 120fps at 1080P Vertical NVR Server: H.264/MPEG4, USB, RS485, Gigabit, 2x SATA, eSATA, 2yr" are high quality item. You can read each testimony from consumers to find out cons and pros from Dahua 16 channel 120fps at 1080P Vertical NVR Server: H.264/MPEG4, USB, RS485, Gigabit, 2x SATA, eSATA, 2yr ...
