I actually had a plumber install it; who wasn't experienced in installing water powered sump pump. But couple of notes for future installer;
1. Make sure install the discharge relief tee (provided) to ensure the pump gets proper suction. Otherwise, it won't work. Apparently, it needs back pressue for the pump to work.
2. Try to keep the discharge pipe slightly lower than the pump. In that way, water drip will be minimal when the pump stops. although there is a drain provided and it is not a major issue at all. But something to keep in mind.
3. Lastly, the when the pump stops, it does make a rather loud noise. This actually when the vaccum breaks. Some other reviewers had noted that you would be preferable to have the noise so that you are aware the pump operated. Otherwise, you can install a air arrestor to minimize the bang.

Overall a great product for a peace of mind. As expected, not as powerful as your primary pump but it great as a backup.
