This SentrySafe SFW123FUL comes equipped only with a digital keypad - it does not have a manual key backup option.

The safe is a good size to store the average family's important documents and small valuables. The safe is opened via a digital keypad that uses 4 AAA batteries. The batteries also power 2 white LEDs on the inside of the door. The LEDs are not completely adequate to shuffle through the safe contents in a dark room, but they do help.

The inside of the safe is made of hard plastic with 1 shelf an 1 tray which can be raised on lowered by inserting them into the appropriate wall slots. The inside of the safe is 12" D x 12" W x 13.5" H. It is large enough to store file folders, jewelry boxes, etc. There is also a small open storage compartment in the door that can accommodate small documents (passports) or valuables.

There is an option to bolt down the safe - which I feel should be the de-facto standard. Even though the safe is close to 90 lbs, it is not difficult for professionals to steal. Bolting down severely decreases the likelihood of theft. However, bolting down removes water resistance. This is a con for the safe as there are many options to ensure water seals for bolted down safes.

Lastly, the lack of a backup key and the ability to reset (remove/program over) the factory set code really makes this a less desirable safe. I have to register my safe with SentrySafe for the warranty. It might be a long shot, but someone could access my registration and have the master key code to my safe along with my home address. Not cool!
