This Koncept AR3000 Z-Bar silver desk lamp is a 4500K cool white LED lamp with a 9" tip-resistant base and a 42-LED, 9.5 watt bulb (included). It has a slender aluminum housing for light weight and resistance to corrosion and a built-in touch strip dimmer with multiple dimming levels for adjusting light intensity. The 16.5" lamp head swings and rotates, and the 15.13" top arm and 16.42" lower arm rotate and pivot for positioning the light in a variety of ways. It has a 10' cord with plug and a transformer for resistance to unstable voltage and is rated for 50,000 hours. This desk lamp is suitable for dry locations such as homework areas, computer workstations, or indoor desks or tables.

This desk lamp is a bit expensive, but worth it. The design allows me to position the light where I want and need it on my desk. My previous lamp was halogen, and it had two problems: (1) it got very hot, which is characteristic of halogen, and (2) the switch failed after a few years. This lamp uses LEDs, which generate almost no heat, and has a touch switch, which I am hopeful will not fail for a long time. My only complaints are that while the base of the lamp must be "heavy" to serve as a counterweight for the z-bar arm, it is 9 inches in diameter. Would be nice if it were a bit thicker, but smaller diameter. Second, there is no tension adjustment on the joints in the arms, so when you move the arms, you have to hold the base with your other hand. I would like to have had the ability to adjust the amount of tension in the arm joints. Overall, though, a great desklamp.
