I have two of these toilets and love both of them. First of all the new design of the flushing mechanism is different from a regular toilet. The Type 5 Design I have found doesn't need a lot of water sitting in the bowl. Most of the water is used to break up the debris versus just swirling around in the bowl. If you go online to the Kohler website, you can see the video that explains the design of this toilet.

The clean lines of this unit and the functionality as well make this a great toilet. This matches the design of our pedestal sink we also purchased. It has all straight lines and sits great on the floor with a large base. Also this is the elongated design and sits higher than a regular toilet. I purchased a lid and seat from Home Depot that has chrome hinges to match my bath and the price was about $28. All in all this is a great toilet that will serve you a long, long time.
